Day 41 – Shattered

I’m extremely tired today, I slept for most of the day and can still hardly keep my eyes open, so this is going to be a short one.

Still really constipated and still in some pain and discomfort. They have me on three different laxatives so that is surely going to have some effect! They are never keen to do enema’s when on chemo in case there is internal bleeding that might not stop. Lovely topic of conservation huh.

A friend linked me to this article on BBC, which after talking about Dr Nick over the last few days was very apt and kind of worrying;

Trainee doctor changeover ‘impacts on patient safety’

A small excerpt to give you an idea of what’s in it:

The vast majority of doctors believe patient safety is compromised by the August intake of medical trainees, a survey has suggested.

The latest intake of medical trainee doctors start their training posts in the NHS at the beginning of the month…

…It found that 90% of doctors who responded said the changeover had a negative impact on patient safety.

No s**t! However the worrying thing is I thought Dr Nick was one of a few, not many!
